Founded in 2010, Ghatkopar Krida Pratishthan Foundation, based in Mumbai, is a community-focused non-profit that believes every child deserves access to sports, mentorship, and a safe place to grow. We offer free basketball coaching to children from BMC and low-income schools in Ghatkopar and nearby areas. Our sessions build discipline, teamwork, leadership, and emotional strength, and give these children the confidence and purpose to dream bigger. For many, the court becomes their second home and a place where they discover confidence and purpose. What began as a small initiative by two passionate friends has now grown into one of Mumbai’s most trusted community-driven basketball programs.

Our Journey

History of GKP

The Beginning

Started with a small group of children playing on a mud court, driven purely by a passion for the game.

Infrastructure & Growth

Constructed a professional court with support from the BMC. Introduced free Winter and Summer training camps for young players.

Expanding Access

Our players represented the District and State levels. Launched free basketball training programs in BMC schools to ensure access to sports for everyone.

National Recognition

Athletes competed at School, State, and National levels, securing admissions to reputed universities across India through sports achievements.

Excellence & Leadership

Achieved milestones in Khelo India and NBA Camps. Members earned SAI Coach Certification, became National Referees, and pursued PhDs in Sports Psychology.
